FKJ Enters a New Era with Soulmates and Upcoming Album Tyber

FKJ is stepping into a new era with the release of ‘Soulmates’, the first taste of his upcoming third album, Tyber, arriving this autumn. The French multi-instrumentalist, producer and singer has built a devoted global following by effortlessly blurring the lines between jazz, soul, funk, electronic music and improvisation, and ‘Soulmates’ feels like a natural continuation of that journey. Warm, sun-soaked and deeply reflective, the track explores the balance between solitude and connection. “Soulmates is about embracing your solitude,” FKJ says. “For me, solitude really works, and I’m taking time with myself. But I really care about my soulmates, the people in my life who are important to me. It’s all about finding the balance.” That sense of reflection runs throughout Tyber, an album written and recorded across London, Los Angeles, Paris, Brazil and Mexico, with each place leaving its mark on the music.

More than just a new record, Tyber captures a period of profound personal growth for FKJ. Created in the years following V I N C E N T, the album traces a journey through change, uncertainty and renewal, resulting in some of his most open and adventurous work to date. Funk grooves sit alongside jazz instrumentals, psychedelic textures and intimate songwriting, while collaborations with Lucy Park, Baby Rose, Bas, Eryn Allen Kane and Labrinth add fresh perspectives to the project. As FKJ gears up for a major headline tour across Europe, the US and Canada, Tyber feels less like a destination and more like a snapshot of an artist evolving in real time. “All these events and places in the journey were essential,” he says. “Like a quest to become a more refined and evolved version of myself.” The result is a record that feels both deeply personal and effortlessly expansive — the sound of an artist reconnecting with himself and inviting listeners along for the ride.
