KAWALA are back with a treat for fans in the form of their stunning cover of Griff & HONNE’s epic ‘1,000,000 x Better’, from their forthcoming mixtape.
The boys remake the gentle, soulful electronica of the original into a beautiful, semi-acoustic beach jam, with Jim and Daniel’s trademark vocal harmonies soaring over chiming guitars and laid-back beats.
“We’ve always loved the idea of recording a cover. Something about taking a song we enjoy and putting our own little spin on it feels really rewarding” Daniel explains. “We spent loads of time debating the ideal song until eventually stumbling across ‘1000000x Better’ by Griff & Honne and we were just blown away. The melody writing & progression were so interesting & we really thought we could have a go at Kawala-fying it. With two studio days before Christmas eve to arrange & record it, we’re pretty chuffed with the outcome”
The cover will feature on the band’s forthcoming mixtape which will be released this summer.
As one of the UK’s most vital live bands, in 2021 the band will be taking their full, high energy live show on the road as they play the rescheduled shows of their 2020 tour, concluding with their biggest London show to date at the Kentish Town Forum which was upgraded due to demand.
