The British Fashion Awards 2024

The fashion industry gathered at the Royal Albert Hall for the British Fashion Awards 2024, organized by the British Fashion Council and presented by Pandora. Hosted by Maya Jama and Kojey Radical, the evening celebrated trailblazers in design, culture, and creativity, while honoring the main contributions to the global fashion landscape.

For the second consecutive year, Irish-born designer Jonathan Anderson triumphed as Designer of the Year, thanks to his impact and influence as Creative Director of JW Anderson and Loewe. Rapper A$AP Rocky was awarded the Cultural Innovator Award, for his contributions to the realms of music and fashion. He took the stage to receive his award wearing a Bottega Veneta ensemble. He was accompanied by Rihanna, who wore a blue winter coat and textured hat from Christian Lacroix’s iconic Fall/Winter 2002 Haute Couture collection.

Model Alex Consani made history as the first trans woman to win Model of the Year. Dressed in a Dilara Findikoglu creation, she accepted the award with a heartfelt message about inclusivity and progress within the industry. American designer Tom Ford was celebrated with the Outstanding Achievement Award, presented by Anna Wintour, for his enduring influence and contributions to fashion.

Other major winners of the night include actress, writer, and producer Issa Rae received the Pandora Leader of Change Award, for her efforts to champion diversity, representation, and innovation across multiple creative fields. Simone Rocha as British Womenswear Designer of the Year. Grace Wales Bonner as British Menswear Designer of the Year. Stephen Jones awarded the British Accessories Brand Award and Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator to Tyler Mitchell, whose photography continues to shape contemporary visual culture.

The night opened with a surprise performance by Blondie, setting the tone for an electrifying evening. And afrobeats sensation Wizkid closed the ceremony with a dazzling musical finale.

Celebrities spotted at the event included Simone Ashley in Prada, Julia Fox in custom Dilara Findikoglu, Nicola Coughlan in Gaurav Gupta, Venus Williams in Thom Browne, Alexa Chung in Miu Miu, and Jourdan Dunn in Christian Dior’s Fall/Winter 2024 collection.
