Fashion collaborations are at their best when they sound slightly random at first and then, two seconds later, make complete sense.
This summer, five partnerships stand out for exactly that reason. From patisserie and resortwear to dating apps and high-speed sailing, these collaborations all come with a twist: unexpected on paper, surprisingly natural in execution.
Kith x Birkenstock
Placing a hyper-contemporary New York streetwear label next to a German heritage brand dating back to 1774 is always a masterclass in contrasts. One represents the cutting edge of modern curation; the other, a 250-year-old legacy of functional, orthopedic design.
For Summer 2026, the duo reunites to prove that utilitarian comfort can be thoroughly elevated. The capsule focuses entirely on two iconic silhouettes reimagined in premium suede: the Zurich slip-on sandal and the Amsterdam clog.
The Zurich leans into texture, featuring an all-over debossed Kith Monogram in rich tones of Deep Well (with silver hardware) and Espresso(with brass hardware). The closed-toe Amsterdam clog takes a sleeker route in Mocca, Taupe, and Black, subtly branded with a Kith Script along the side. Both styles are anchored by Birkenstock’s signature cork-latex footbed, blending streetwear aesthetics with uncompromising foot alignment.
Dropping in mid-June through Kith’s global hubs and followed by an exclusive release on Birkenstock’s premium 1774 platform, it is everyday footwear, but curated. Heritage, but hyped.

Casablanca x Ladurée
Casablanca and Ladurée might sound like a fantasy fashion lunch before it sounds like a collaboration, but that is exactly why it works.
Both houses understand colour, ritual and a very specific idea of pleasure. Ladurée brings the world of Parisian pâtisserie, pastel salons and macarons; Casablanca brings silk shirts, travel, tennis courts and that sun-drenched sense of luxury that never feels too stiff.
The collaboration moves between taste and style, with limited-edition macarons, Eugénies, gift boxes and a ready-to-wear capsule that includes silk shirts, knitwear, hoodies, bags, caps and scarves. The signature flavour pomelo and mint feels suitably summer: fresh, bright and just slightly unexpected.
It is indulgent, yes, but not in a heavy way. More like a long afternoon in Paris that somehow turns into a holiday campaign.
Orlebar Brown x Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc
Some collaborations need a long explanation. This one does not.
Orlebar Brown has built its world around the idea of holiday dressing, while Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc remains one of the ultimate symbols of Riviera elegance. Put them together and the result feels almost inevitable.
The capsule captures that polished resort mood: relaxed, refined and made for the kind of summer where the pool, lunch terrace and late-afternoon drink all blend into one. It also makes sense because Orlebar Brown has always treated swimwear as something closer to proper clothing — pieces that work beyond the beach.
Launched first at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc before arriving in selected Orlebar Brown boutiques later in the season, the collaboration feels less like a logo moment and more like a postcard from the perfect summer.
Diesel x Tinder
Diesel and Tinder is the one that makes you pause first.
Then you see the slogan: “For Successful Loving.”
A sharp twist on Diesel’s iconic “For Successful Living” manifesto, the collaboration turns the brand’s rebellious language towards love, dating, sexuality and self-expression. Created for Pride 2026, the capsule celebrates LGBTQIA+ freedom, intimacy and connection through a 17-piece collection spanning ready-to-wear, denim, underwear and accessories.
The campaign leans into a lo-fi, documentary-style audition format, with Gigi Goode interviewing LGBTQIA+ community members about love in all its awkward, funny, emotional and real forms. It feels very Diesel: provocative, human and not overly polished.
What makes it work is that Tinder brings the language of connection, while Diesel brings the attitude. Together, it becomes less about dating-app novelty and more about defending love in every form.
Tommy Hilfiger x U.S. SailGP Team
Tommy Hilfiger and sailing already share a visual language: prep, stripes, red, white and blue, and that clean American summer energy. But the U.S. SailGP Team adds a sharper, faster and more technical edge.
The Summer 2026 collection is designed for life on and off the water, merging Tommy’s nautical heritage with performance-led details inspired by modern sailing. Key pieces include a waterproof and windproof Sailing Jacket in three-layer ripstop canvas, moisture-wicking and anti-odour polos, quarter-zips and sweatshirts influenced by the shape and tension of a sail.
The palette keeps the classic Tommy codes but updates them with ecru, sandalwood, navy, black and a punch of citra lime taken from vintage sailing jackets.
It is prep, but faster. Sport, but sharper. And in a summer where fashion and performance continue to overlap, it is exactly the kind of collaboration that feels built for now.
Final Thought
The best collaborations do not just place two names next to each other. They reveal a shared language.
Casablanca and Ladurée turn indulgence into style. Orlebar Brown and Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc turn resortwear into a destination. Diesel and Tinder turn a slogan into a Pride statement. Tommy Hilfiger and SailGP turn prep into performance. Kith and Birkenstock turn historic function into a modern streetwear staple.
Unexpected? Maybe at first.
But that is exactly what makes them worth knowing.
