Bottega Veneta returns with the fourth edition of Bottega for Bottegas, a yearly initiative showcasing the brilliance of small-scale artisans. Rooted in the brand’s Venetian heritage, this year’s selection features six distinct workshops from Venice and its surrounding regions, each epitomizing the timeless craftsmanship and innovation central to Bottega Veneta’s ethos.
The campaign’s name, Bottega for Bottegas, pays homage to the house’s identity: “Bottega Veneta” translates to “Venetian artisanal workshop.” Through this initiative, the luxury fashion house shines a spotlight on the region’s rich artisanal heritage, bridging traditional craft with contemporary design. This year’s featured artisans include:
- Signor Blum – Established in 1978, this workshop crafts wooden jigsaw puzzles inspired by Venetian architecture, animals, and natural motifs. Each puzzle is meticulously hand-drawn, cut, and painted by a second generation of artisans.
- Laguna~B – A pioneer of contemporary glassware, Laguna~B was founded in 1994 by Marie Brandolini. Now led by artistic director Marcantonio Brandolini, the studio pushes boundaries with experimental glassmaking techniques, merging functionality with artistry.
- Fonderia Artistica Valese – Operating since 1913, this is Venice’s last remaining foundry for traditional brass and bronze sand-casting. Their creations range from iconic Venetian symbols to intricate chandeliers and door handles, preserving a dying craft.
- Bruno Amadi – A Murano-born glass artisan with over 50 years of experience, Bruno Amadi specializes in lifelike glass models of nature’s beauty, from delicate butterflies to vibrant vegetables.
- Wave Murano Glass – Founded in 2017, this young workshop combines Murano’s legendary glassmaking traditions with modern techniques, producing bespoke pieces for luxury furniture and lighting brands.
- Modiano – With roots dating back to 1868, Modiano is renowned worldwide for its high-quality playing and tarot cards, blending design excellence with historical significance.
This curated collaboration not only highlights the artisans’ unique skills but also aligns with Bottega Veneta’s commitment to sustainable luxury, focusing on timeless quality over fleeting trends.
