Emerging singer-songwriter Jasper Hodges returns with his latest single, “Picture On My Phone”, a warm and intimate track that captures the excitement and tenderness of young romance.
At just 19 years old, Hodges continues to establish himself as an artist with a natural instinct for honest, emotionally direct songwriting. “Picture On My Phone” leans into that strength, painting a picture of closeness through the small details that often come to define a relationship: shared moments, memories and the photographs that remain long after the moment itself has passed.
Bright and sentimental without becoming overly polished, the track carries a youthful energy that feels fitting for the end of summer. The single is the penultimate release from Hodges’ The Basement Sessions trilogy, following recent track “Bound To Leave.” The project was recorded at Vincent van Gogh’s former home in Hodges’ native Ramsgate, giving the collection an unusual connection to both place and creative history.
Hodges initially began attracting attention online through an ambitious songwriting challenge, committing to writing and sharing an original song every day until he reached 25,000 followers on Instagram. The challenge quickly helped him build an engaged audience and introduced listeners to the consistency and vulnerability at the heart of his songwriting.
Since then, his career has steadily moved beyond social media. Hodges has already appeared on significant live stages, including a support slot for Zach Bryan at Hyde Park, while also making festival appearances at Belladrum and Boardmasters.
“Picture On My Phone” marks another step in that progression, balancing the intimacy of Hodges’ early online songwriting with the confidence of an artist beginning to find his place on a larger stage.
