MM6 Maison Margiela’s AW26 collection plays with the idea of movement arrivals, departures, and the quiet theatre of everyday dressing. There’s something deliberately exaggerated about the “normality” here: blazers cut sharper, full skirts given more volume, tracksuit tops recontextualised against tailored pieces. It’s classic MM6, reduction meeting distortion but this season it feels more confident, more self-aware.
What stood out most for me were the oversized and large-scale elements. The generous proportions in the outerwear and the Bauletto bags add weight and presence, anchoring looks that otherwise flirt with restraint. The full skirts, in particular, carry a sense of quiet drama — structured yet fluid, grounded yet expansive. There’s a subtle tension between concealment and statement, especially with the shielded eyewear and elongated silhouettes.
It’s a collection that understands archetypes, then gently disrupts them. Elevated normality, but done with intention.
