Asha Banks: Flourishing Across Film, Music and Her Own Bright Future

Asha Banks is flourishing as a multi-hyphenate star, and she has cemented a presence that is propelling her into a bright future. She is the lead in the newly released, enthralling romantic drama ‘Your Fault: London’, which is out now on Prime Video. She plays the layered role of Noah and stars alongside love interest Nick, who is played by Matthew Broome. The film follows the incredibly popular movie ‘My Fault: London’, released back in 2025, which introduced Asha Banks as Noah to our screens. This is the second instalment of the UK adaptation of Mercedes Ron’s bestselling ‘Culpables’ trilogy. Embodying creativity in multiple avenues, she has also lent her mesmerising vocals to the soundtrack of ‘Your Fault: London’ in the song ‘Come Down’.

With talent in abundance, she has also recently returned to the role of Cara Ward in the second season of ‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’. Not only is she bringing characters to life on screen via her numerous acting roles, but she also shines on soundtracks. Her song ‘Too Busy Missing You’ featured on the soundtrack for Prime Video’s critically acclaimed series ‘Off Campus’. She has also been busy in the studio with her collaborative EP ‘Everything Is About You’ with Novo Amor and Lowswimmer, and last year, she released her sophomore EP ‘How Real Was It?’ She has also embarked on her first-ever headline tour across North America, the U.K. and Europe, and has previously opened for Noah Kahan at the festival BST Hyde Park.

Her trajectory continues to accelerate as she soars to new heights, and her latest role in ‘Your Fault: London’ marks an exciting moment in her career. House of Solo spoke with digital cover star Asha Banks, who talks about her new film, her musical ventures and more!

Shedding insight behind the film ‘Your Fault: London’, she talks about what fans can expect from her latest release, and she says:

‘More Nick and Noah, more of them going through the turmoil of life. I feel like this film is so much kind of buzzier than the first one, and more dramatic. I think they have an emotional depth to them now, and there’s much more weight surrounding their sort of relationship, so yeah, it carries a lot more depth.’

Blossoming into her own, the character of Noah continues to build in ‘Your Fault: London’, as it examines her relationship with Nick (Matthew Broome), and you begin to see her move into the next chapter of her life as she embarks on her studies at Oxford University. When asked how the character has grown since the first instalment, she explains:

‘I mean, in so many ways. I think Matt and I spoke about how excited we were for this second film to be able to kind of explore how Nick and Noah work in a relationship, because we start the film and they’ve been together for a period of time, and they’re kind of comfortable with each other, which for the first film, we didn’t really get to explore much of. It was a lot of them kind of getting to know each other.’

She continues: ‘Whereas this film explores their kind of comfortability and how they work in a relationship, but also I was excited for Noah to go off to Oxford, which is a big storyline of the second film, because I think it was the first time that we’d seen her since she came to the UK, make her own friends and have her own life. I think in the first film her whole universe is centred around Nick, whereas this film, it was exciting to be able to see how she kind of blossoms in the UK on her own terms, and her dynamic with new characters.’

‘Your Fault: London’ is the second film in the book trilogy. Focusing on the theme of growth, Asha was asked about how she felt she had grown as a person during the time of filming the first and second film. She responds:

‘Oh my god, so much. It’s so crazy to kind of think back to the beginning of the first film, because it’s just the most, like, educational thing ever.’

She talks about how she had never been to drama school, so working as an actress has been her training, and doing three films in the trilogy has been the biggest blessing in the world.

Asha continues: ‘I feel like I’ve learned so much as an actor, being able to work alongside somebody else so closely in Matt, but also in Dani and Charlotte, our wonderful directors. They are so generous and caring and care so much about this project, and they let us kind of peek behind the curtain and have a look into sort of the filmmaking world, which was also just so inspiring. It’s been such a learning curve for me.’

The premiere for ‘Your Fault: London’ was held in Leicester Square, and it has been one year since the release of the first film, ‘My Fault: London’. When talking about the premiere, she explains:

‘The first one [‘My Fault: London’] felt like such a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I couldn’t quite believe it was happening again in such a short amount of time, it feels like, since the first premiere. But it was amazing, and it was so lovely, because this time we had some fans of the movie there, which made the premiere so much more electric and exciting to have them there with us.’

Expanding the conversation surrounding ‘Your Fault: London’, she responds to a question asking what some of her favourite on-set memories are.

‘Oh, goodness, there’s so many,’ she says.

She continues: ‘The cast are some of my best friends ever, and it was very special. It felt like a lot of us were going through this together, sort of for the first time, so we all really leant on each other. Matt and I write a lot of raps, and songs, and dances, and are just doing silly things 98% of the time whilst we’re on set. So, yeah, just hanging out with the cast, I think, has been my favourite.’

Noah is a multi-dimensional character, and Asha plays Noah with a depth that brings a new side of her personality. Providing further insight into the character, a question was asked on the topic of how Asha gets into the zone to play Noah and whether she has a playlist or a pre-ritual before she plays Noah.

‘I know it’s cliché, but getting into hair and makeup just does make the biggest difference. I think with Noah, for me, like, our kind of style and hair and makeup isn’t that dissimilar from each other, but Noah has tattoos, and I don’t have tattoos, so I think every morning when I would put on the tattoos, that felt like I would really get into the zone. And then I’d go back to my trailer and listen to my playlist. I’m such a big music person, so I made different playlists for each film.’

Not only did Asha do a brilliant job in portraying Noah, but she also showcases her spellbinding vocals on the track ‘Come Down’, which featured in the film. Talking about the experience and what it was like to have her music featured in the film, she says:

‘Oh, so surreal, it’s crazy. It’s like everything that I would have dreamed of a few years ago, and I feel very lucky that, truthfully, Dani and Charlotte, our wonderful directors of both the first movie and the second one, you know, gave me the opportunity to have music in the film. It’s such a big deal, and it’s really helped me, kind of, kickstart, you know, my music career properly, and be able to share it with this loving audience of the film.’

Her vocals bring the cinematic element to life, and she has also had her song ‘Too Busy Missing You’ on the series ‘Off Campus’, which is out on Prime Video. She talks about her experience:

‘They reached out, and I remember I was told that Off Campus wanted to use one of my songs, and it’s a TV show that’s coming to Prime, and I was like, ‘I know what it is, I know what it is’, and immediately, I was like, 100%, definitely want to do this. It’s such a wonderful show, and obviously has such a beloved audience anyway, so that was another amazing, amazing opportunity to have my music involved, and yeah, it’s so exciting.’

With many strings to her bow, she’s a seasoned singer-songwriter, and she has gone on tour across North America, the U.K. and Europe. She has also released EPs such as ‘How Real Was It?’ and ‘Untie My Tongue’, back in 2025. Earlier this year, she released her collaborative three-track EP ‘Everything Is About You’ with Novo Amor and Lowswimmer. When discussing what it was like dropping her collaborative project, she says:

‘Oh, goodness, that was such a surreal moment. Novo Amor and Lowswimmer have been, like, two of my favourite artists for years and years and years. They are just so amazing, and their music just kills me, it always has, and they’ve always been one of my, kind of, dream collabs, so the opportunity arose to go and stay with them in Wales and write for basically, like, a week, and I’d never met either of them before, but it was just amazing.’

‘We played a lot of Monopoly Deal card games, and ate Frubes, and wrote some songs, and yeah, by the end of the week, I came away and realised that I loved those three songs so much, and sort of cheekily said to the boys, ” Do you want to do them with me? Do you want to collab on them? Because that sort of wasn’t the plan originally, it was meant to just be writing for my project. But it felt like it made so much sense; the three songs worked so well together, kind of as a group. So, yeah, I was very lucky that they were able to jump on it with me.’

Bringing her music to life by going on tour, Asha performed at the venue Roundhouse in London, and we spoke about this during the interview. She explains that her first-ever gig was at Roundhouse, where she saw James Bay. When talking about performing at the venue many years later, which happened earlier this year, she said: ‘It’s always been a dream venue of mine,’ and getting to play there was ‘amazing’.

The future looks bright for Asha, and she continues to ascend in multiple lanes. Asha also performed last year at BST Hyde Park and opened for Noah Kahan, which was her first festival performance, and she said she was there for the experience, even if there were 10 people watching. She said that Noah Kahan is one of her favourite artists, his audience was so lovely, and when she walked out, it was overwhelming the amount of people that were watching.

‘That’s one of my highlights, 100%, of performing that I’ve done so far. I think, just because of how unexpected it was, I really did not anticipate to see many people watching, and it was very, very full.’

On the topic of highlights, House of Solo asked what some of her highlight moments have been, across her music or acting.

‘I always think that I’ve had my highlights, and then another one happens. It’s been a very, very, very crazy year. I mean, all the things that you’ve mentioned, like, Roundhouse will forever be so important to me, the premiere of this film, I mean, these are all just recent ones, but even I did a show at Regent’s Park in September, which was a dream venue of mine for ages. I watched my brother perform in shows there when he was a kid, so headlining that venue was amazing, but also because it’s the theatre, I think, that felt so tied to my heart and my growing up, that was a very, very special night. There’s so many of them, they’re all nuts, I’m pinching myself constantly.’

Asha has been thriving across both music and acting, continuing to build an ever-expanding portfolio with standout roles across film and television. She also starred in the TV show ‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’, and she reveals what it was like working on that. She says: ‘So good! I’ve made some of my best friends on that show, and that truly was, like, my first experience being a supporting lead role in anything, and it was my first experience coming back to a character. So I think Cara, my character, will always have a very, very special place in my heart, and I just love the show, I love the books, I think it’s just such an amazing story, and I feel very proud to be a part of it.’
