Against the stunning backdrop of a snow-covered Central Park, guests of the Carolina Herrera Fall/Winter 2025 show were greeted with a breathtaking view this morning in New York. Known for her impeccable attention to detail – not just in her collections but in her choice of venues – Carolina Herrera has long set the standard for elegant showcases. Creative Director Wes Gordon followed suit, selecting the 48th floor of the Solow Building in Midtown Manhattan, offering sweeping panoramic views of the city.
the runway was decorated with 3000 cherry red ranunculus, a nod to Being There (1975), the film that inspired Gordon’s vision. Through this, he highlights themes of transformation, perseverance, and poise, mirroring the understated nature of Chance the Gardener, the film’s central character.
The collection serves as a metaphor for beauty and transformation. Delicate silk rosettes, cashmere knitwear, strapless bustiers, and embroidered capes evoke innocence and elegance, while masculine tailored trousers and blazers add a sharp contrast, maintaining an underlying femininity. Yet, it’s the bold use of lace, sheer silhouettes with a touch of sparkle, midriff-baring tops paired with long coats, and striking red ensembles that remind us that, at her core, the Herrera woman remains confident, modern, and undeniably sexy.
With a colour palette inspired by autumnal jewel tones, the designs radiate both sophistication and vibrancy. Wes’ choice of deep reds, navies, and greens, along with pops of bright blue and pink, feels grounded yet energising. True to the House’s signature style, these colours are rich and pure, giving even the darker hues a sense of liveliness. The models were decked in gold, from buttons and earrings to rose appliqués. Matte, brown eye looks dominated the runway, paired with various shades of red lipstick, all courtesy of Carolina Herrera’s makeup artist Samantha Lau.
Among the notable guests were celebrities such as Dove Cameron, Chloe Fineman, Emmy Rossum, and Nicole Scherzinger, alongside influencers like Emilia Silberg. This diverse guest list reflects the modern shift Wes Gordon is embracing for the brand. And, of course, it wouldn’t be a Herrera event without Carolina Herrera herself, joined by the industry’s fashion expert, Anna Wintour, among the VIPs.
A total of 66 looks graced the garden-inspired runway, where sophistication and playfulness came together. Each piece embodies the duality of the Herrera woman, refined yet daring, timeless yet modern.
