Lydia Night Announces Debut Solo Album Parody of Pleasure

Lydia Night, the former frontwoman of The Regrettes, has announced her debut solo album Parody of Pleasure, set for release on August 8 through Warner Records. The record marks a fresh pop direction inspired by icons like Madonna, Gwen Stefani, and Britney Spears.

Parody of Pleasure marks a bold reinvention for Night as she embraces the glossy, uninhibited pop that first inspired her. “As a kid I was obsessed with punk because of my dad,” she explains. “But when I got older my mom introduced me to pop music that stuck with me forever and inspired a lot of this record, like Gwen Stefani and Madonna and Britney Spears.”

Alongside the announcement, Lydia Night shared her new single “Gutter,” a sultry art-pop track blending playful lyrics and hypnotic vocals. The song arrives with a colorful music video co-directed by Night and Ramisha Sattar, known for her work with Chappell Roan.

Recorded with producer Alexis Kesselman in New York City, Parody of Pleasure showcases Night’s unguarded songwriting and fearless creativity. “Reclaiming my creativity gave me real confidence,” Night says. “I hope the album helps people feel more love for themselves.”

Parody of Pleasure is available to pre-order now. Listen to “Gutter” and watch the video today.
