UMusic Shop Camden is set to mark Ivors Week with a special in-store takeover celebrating the songwriters and screen composers behind some of Britain’s most influential music.
Running from Monday 18 May, the iconic Camden space will be transformed into an immersive tribute to the stories, lyrics and records that have helped define generations. Located in one of London’s most historic music neighbourhoods, the takeover places the spotlight firmly on the creative voices behind the songs during one of the most important weeks in the music calendar.
The experience will include a songwriter-curated vinyl installation, featuring a specially selected collection of landmark albums that invites guests to rediscover classic records through the lens of songwriting.
There will also be a live lyric screen-printing activation, bringing some of British music’s most recognisable words to life through limited-edition collectable prints. The activation will feature lyrics from artists and songwriters including The Cure, Elton John and Bernie Taupin, Richard Ashcroft, Joy Division and more.
As Ivors Week celebrates the craft, influence and cultural impact of songwriters across the UK and beyond, UMusic Shop Camden’s takeover offers a unique physical space to honour the albums, lyrics and stories that continue to connect with audiences around the world.
