Onitsuka Tiger x Versace Brings Archive Sport Style into Luxury Territory

Onitsuka Tiger has unveiled its latest footwear collaboration with Versace, bringing together Japanese sports heritage and Italian luxury in a release that feels both collectible and distinctly fashion-driven.

The styles were first revealed during the Versace Spring/Summer 2026 runway show in Milan last September, where the unexpected pairing of the two houses quietly stood out. Now arriving as a standalone launch, the collaboration highlights a thoughtful dialogue between archive sport design and decorative Italian craftsmanship.

At the centre of the drop is a reworked version of Onitsuka Tiger’s archival TAI-CHI model. The silhouette retains its stripped-back athletic origins but is elevated through refined detailing — including double stitching across the signature tiger stripes and Versace’s iconic Medusa emblem, reinterpreted as a studded embellishment on the tongue.

Finish plays a key role in defining the shoes’ character. The uppers undergo washing and buffing treatments that create a worn-in, vintage texture, softening the polished luxury codes and giving the sneakers a more lived-in, collector’s feel.

The collaboration also introduces a loafer crafted in Italy, extending the partnership beyond trainer culture and adding a more polished fashion element to the offering.

Together, the pieces reflect a careful blend of Italian materials, Japanese design heritage and the detailed craftsmanship of Onitsuka Tiger’s Innovative Factory in Tottori Prefecture. The result feels less like a logo-driven collaboration and more like a meeting of two distinct brand identities — where Onitsuka Tiger’s archive sport minimalism meets Versace’s bold decorative language.

The Onitsuka Tiger x Versace collection is now available through selected Versace stores worldwide and via the brand’s official online store.
